Terms of Service
Last updated: July 13, 2026
What myFAOS is
myFAOS is a free, open-source web app that helps families organize their everyday life. By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms.
The software is released under the license published in the GitHub repository; these terms govern your use of the hosted service at myfaos.app.
Your account
You must provide accurate information when signing up and keep your credentials safe. You are responsible for activity that happens through your account.
Your family’s invite code grants access to all of your family’s data — share it only with people who belong in your family.
Acceptable use
Use the service only for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, access other families’ data, or store content that is illegal or infringes the rights of others.
Your content
Everything you and your family enter into the app remains yours. We claim no ownership and use your content only to operate the service for you — storing it, syncing it between your family’s devices, and backing it up.
You can export your data at any time from Settings → Data.
Availability and warranty
myFAOS is a free community project, provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep the service reliable, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability or the absence of data loss — please use the built-in export to keep your own backups of important information.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are liable only for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence. Liability for slight negligence is limited to breaches of essential contractual duties and to foreseeable, typical damage. Mandatory statutory liability (e.g. for injury to life, body, or health) remains unaffected.
Termination
You can stop using the service and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or abuse the service, and we may discontinue the hosted service with reasonable advance notice — the open-source code remains available for self-hosting.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the current version is always published on this page with its date. If you continue to use the service after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.
